SMS/Text Messaging

Opt-In Process

When registering for a league, you may choose to opt-in to receive SMS (text message) notifications. SMS notifications are completely optional and are only sent if you explicitly enable them during league registration.

To opt-in to SMS notifications during league registration:

• Check the "Enable SMS notifications for match updates" checkbox in the registration form
• Enter your US phone number (10 digits). You can use any format: (123) 456-7890, 123-456-7890, or 1234567890
• Check the consent checkbox that states: "I agree to receive texts from Rally9 Pickleball for match availability updates and schedule reminders"

By completing these steps, you are providing explicit consent to receive SMS notifications for the specific league you are registering for. Your phone number will be automatically formatted and stored in E.164 format (+1 followed by your 10-digit number) for delivery purposes.

Types of SMS Messages

If you opt-in, you will receive SMS notifications for:

• When your opponent posts match availability (including any comments they include)
• When your match is scheduled with a specific date and time

We will not send you marketing messages, promotional content, or any other SMS messages beyond these match-related notifications.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Standard messaging charges from your mobile carrier will apply to SMS notifications. We are not responsible for any charges you may incur from your mobile carrier.

Opt-Out Process

You can opt-out of SMS notifications at any time using any of the following methods:

• Dashboard Settings: Go to your league dashboard and use the SMS Notifications toggle to enable or disable SMS notifications for that specific league registration.
• Contact Support: Contact us through our support channels to request removal from SMS notifications for a specific league registration. Provide your phone number and the league name so we can identify and update your registration.

Once you opt-out, you will no longer receive SMS notifications for that league registration. Your phone number will remain stored but SMS notifications will be disabled. You can opt back in at any time using the dashboard toggle, by contacting us, or by enabling SMS notifications during a new league registration.

Note: SMS opt-out preferences are managed per league registration. If you are registered for multiple leagues and have opted in to SMS for each, you will need to opt-out separately for each league if you wish to stop receiving notifications for specific leagues.

Phone Number Storage

Phone numbers are stored per league registration (not per user account), allowing you to use different phone numbers for different leagues if needed. When you provide your US phone number during registration, it is automatically normalized and stored in E.164 format (+1 followed by your 10-digit number) for SMS delivery purposes. Phone numbers are stored securely and are only used for sending SMS notifications as described above.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. Match results and league standings may be retained for historical record purposes, but personal identifiers can be removed upon request.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
